On November 14th, families across the country will honor the bravery and legacy of Ruby Bridges on Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day. This day commemorates Ruby’s courage as the first Black child to desegregate an all-white elementary school in New Orleans in 1960, marking a pivotal moment in the civil rights movement. Ruby’s courage continues to inspire us, reminding us of the importance of standing up for equality and inclusion.
In honor of Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day, we’re excited to share our popular “Brave like Ruby” shirt, designed to inspire kids to carry on Ruby’s spirit of bravery and resilience. This shirt is more than just an item of clothing; it's a reminder to be bold and stand for what’s right, just like Ruby did. We’re also offering a free downloadable Ruby Bridges coloring page for families to enjoy together and teach children about Ruby’s story.

This November 14th, we invite local families to join us in a special walk we’re hosting to honor Ruby Bridges. Together, we’ll walk in her footsteps, celebrating her courage and advocating for a brighter, more inclusive future.
Let’s use this day not only to celebrate Ruby’s incredible journey but also to spark conversations with our kids about courage, kindness, and standing up for what’s right. For more information about Ruby Bridges and ways to support her legacy, check out the Ruby Bridges Foundation.
