The holidays don’t have to be picture-perfect or Pinterest-level to be meaningful. What really makes them special are the moments that make your family laugh, connect, and slow down together - the small things that turn into lifelong memories.
If you’ve ever wanted to add a few simple, heartwarming traditions to your family’s holiday season, here are ten ideas that are easy to start this year - no pressure, no chaos, just cozy fun.

Before bedtime on Christmas Eve, set up a little hot cocoa station.
Include marshmallows, whipped cream, candy canes, sprinkles - and maybe even a grown-up version for the parents. Let the kids “design” their own mugs while you play holiday music in the background.
Before gifts, start a new ritual: everyone writes a short note sharing what they’re thankful for about each person. You can read them out loud or tuck them into stockings. It’s such a grounding way to remember what matters most.

Our family always starts with Elf (because, obviously). Pick 2–3 favorites - The Grinch, Jingle Jangle, Home Alone - and make it a pajama night.

Start the day with music! Before diving into the gifts, blast your family’s favorite holiday songs. Everyone dances in their pajamas while breakfast cooks — it’s silly, spontaneous, and guaranteed to bring smiles.

You don’t need fancy materials - grab clear ornaments, paint, and markers. Let the kids personalize one each year with their name and age. By the time they’re grown, you’ll have a tree full of memories.

Every year, snap one photo in your matching holiday tees or pajamas — same couch, same chaos, same love. Our Holiday Pajamas Collection make the perfect cozy outfits for this.

Whether it’s cookies, cupcakes, or gingerbread houses - let the kids take the lead. Half the fun is the mess anyway. Put on aprons, laugh, and make something delicious.

Pick one night in December to give back. You can donate toys, make blessing bags for the homeless, or bake cookies for neighbors. It’s a beautiful way to show your kids that generosity is the holiday spirit.

Instead of chocolates, wrap 12 or 24 holiday books and open one each night leading up to Christmas. Snuggle up and read together - it’s calm, magical, and screen-free.

After the holidays, grab a jar and small slips of paper. Each family member writes one favorite memory from the year and one hope for the new one. Next New Year’s Eve, read them all aloud - it’s the best reminder of how much joy fits in 12 months.
Traditions don’t need to be expensive or extravagant - they just need you.
Whether you’re drinking cocoa, watching movies, or dancing in pajamas, these small rituals are what your kids will remember most.
Make this the year your family slows down and celebrates the moments that matter most.
