Thanksgiving is supposed to be about gratitude, connection, and good food - not chaos, exhaustion, and a sink full of dishes. But if you’re a mom, you know how easily the day can spiral into a marathon of cooking, cleaning, and trying to keep everyone happy.
This year, I’m all about a slow Thanksgiving - one that feels calm, intentional, and filled with small, joy-filled moments. Here’s how to make it happen.

You don’t need five sides, three desserts, and a turkey big enough to feed the block. Choose a few family favorites that everyone actually loves. Maybe that means mac and cheese, sweet potato pie, and roasted veggies - done.
If someone offers to bring a dish, say yes. Sharing the load makes the meal feel more communal and less like a performance.

Light candles, turn on your favorite playlist, and let your home smell like cinnamon and butter. Don’t worry about everything looking perfect - it’s about how it feels.
If you love decorating, keep it simple: pumpkins, greenery, and warm tones. Your Thanksgiving table doesn’t need to look like Pinterest; it just needs to feel like you.
You deserve to look and feel good - without spending the whole day tugging at your clothes. I always say: comfort, but make it cute.
Think soft sweaters, stretchy jeans, or even one of our cozy Thanksgiving tees paired with leggings and fuzzy socks.

Find pockets of stillness in the day. Step outside with a cup of coffee in the morning, take a few deep breaths before guests arrive, or sneak five minutes of quiet after dinner.
You’ll be amazed how different the day feels when you give yourself permission to pause.

The turkey might be dry. The kids might spill juice on the tablecloth. But those imperfections? They’re part of the story.
Try this: at dinner, have everyone share one thing they’re thankful for about another person at the table. It’s a beautiful reminder that love and laughter matter more than the menu.

You don’t need to do it all. You just need to be there.
The food, the laughter, the matching tees - those are just the extras that make the memories last.
So this year, slow down. Savor the flavors, the hugs, the chaos, and the calm. You’ve earned it.
