Thanksgiving doesn’t have to be a production. It doesn’t have to be perfect either. It’s about the little things - the smell of something sweet in the oven, laughter in the kitchen, and those “remember when” moments you’ll still talk about years from now.
If you’re looking to add a few new, low-stress traditions to your family’s Thanksgiving, here are five ideas to try this year - easy enough for busy moms and full of heart.

If you’re hosting, mornings can feel like a marathon. So, before you start juggling casseroles and cranberry sauce, take it slow.
Turn on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, grab some cozy blankets, and enjoy breakfast together - something simple like Dunkin’ donuts, bagels, or cinnamon rolls. No mess, no dishes, just a sweet start to the day.
Make it extra fun: let everyone pick one parade float or performer to “vote” as their favorite. Kids love this.
Before dinner, set out some paper leaves or construction paper hearts and have everyone write one thing they’re thankful for. You can hang them on a small tree branch centerpiece or tape them on the wall.
It’s simple, but it’s such a grounding way to slow down and remember what the day’s really about. You’ll be amazed at what your kids say when they write theirs — pure gold.

You know I’m all about comfort and connection - so why not match while you make memories?
Our Thankful, Grateful, Blessed Mommy and Me shirts are perfect for a cozy morning at home, the big family dinner, or even those post-turkey photos.
They’re soft, sweet, and say exactly what this season’s about. Plus, when you look back at your photos next year, you’ll love that you coordinated without even trying.

Once the plates are cleared and everyone’s drifting into a food coma, my family has one last tradition: we pile onto the couch, grab blankets, and watch Elf.
It’s our way of kicking off the holiday season - laughing, snuggling, and quoting every line. “Buddy the Elf, what’s your favorite color?” always gets the kids giggling.
If Elf isn’t your thing, pick a favorite holiday movie to make your family’s tradition. It’s the best way to end the day on a cozy, happy note.

Instead of hitting the stores, we stay home in pajamas, drink cocoa, and decorate for Christmas. The music’s on, the tree comes out, and it feels like an instant reset after Thanksgiving.
If you’ve never done it, give it a try this year. You’ll start the holidays feeling ahead of the chaos and full of gratitude.

Traditions don’t have to be big or complicated - they just have to mean something to you. Whether it’s donuts and the parade or matching tees and Elf, what matters is that you’re together.
This Thanksgiving, create memories you’ll actually want to relive - slow, joyful, and full of love.
