Best Places to Go Apple Picking with Kids Near Philadelphia

Philly is surrounded by so many great farms! Apple picking kicks off the fall season and honestly, I don't think there's a better way to get into the fall mood!

Here's a list of best places to go apple picking with kids near Philadelphia:

Linvilla Orchards

If you grew up in Philly or Delco then you know just how special Linvilla Orchards is! It's the perfect destination to enjoy all things fall this time of the year. This 20-acre farm includes barnyard animals, a massive playground, indoor min golf, and so much more! It's the perfect place to pick apples! Linvilla's Pick-Your-Own runs daily from 8am-4pm! They're currently picking honeycrisp and gala apples among many other fruits and vegetables. It's recommended to purchase your tickets online ($11) to reserve your spot. One ticket is good to pick one type of crop. So grab the kiddies and hop on the hayride over to the apple trees!

Indian Orchards Farm

Indian Orchards Farm in Media, PA is open for early picking! Their website states they are currently picking honeycrisp, smokehouse, and gala apples! You'll head to the farm stand to purchase your wristbands for $3.40 and directions to the apples! Apples are charged per pound. They are anticipating other varieties to ripen late September/October.

Johnson's Corner Farm

Johnson's Corner Farm is one of my family's favorite farms! Their fall harvest fest kicks off this weekend and it's one you don't want to miss! Take a hayride around the farm, making a stop to pick apples! The harvest fest runs every weekend from 9:30-5pm. If you'd like to visit during the week (which we highly suggest), wagon rides run from 10-5pm with the last ride leaving at 4pm. Reserve your time online. Wagon rides are $6/weekday, $8/weekend. Children under 12 months are free. Apple picking ends 10/9 so don't miss it!

Styer Orchard

Styer Orchard in Bucks County is open Tuesdays through Sundays from 9a-6pm. Apples are $1.89 and they have many varieties to choose from like early delicious, ginger gold, gala, and honeycrisp! The last hayride leaves at 5:30pm so plan to arrive before then! Styer's is dog friendly so bring your furry friend!

Shady Brook Farm

Shady Brook Farm is another family favorite! Open Wednesdays through Friday from 10am-4pm, pick-your-own sunflowers, honeycrisp, and gala apples! PYO fields can be accessed by a wagon ride/picking pass for $7. Purchase your picking pass online to save $2! The picking pass does not include crops. You'll purchase a container at the gate and pay per pound. Spend your day picking sweet apples and beautiful sunflowers. Afterwards, visit the farmer's market for something sweet! PYO ends September 29th!
