Looking for a fun and unique way to explore Philadelphia with kids? We recently had the chance to review the Philly Ghosts: Phantoms of Philadelphia walking tour from US Ghost Adventures, and it was such a cool experience!
We met our guide, Jackson, at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington Square Park. They were incredibly knowledgeable and full of fun facts and stories that kept both us and our daughters (ages 10 and 12) engaged the entire time. The tour was one hour long and covered about a mile - an easy pace for kids.
We learned all about the architecture and eerie past of Independence National Park, heard ghost stories at the Liberty Bell Center (yes, even the bell has some spooky lore!), and got goosebumps hearing about the haunted Bishop White House. From tales of spirits tied to American history to surprising myths about some of Philly’s most iconic landmarks, this tour was packed with fun and historical facts.
@phillymomlife we took a walking “ghost” tour around Old City in Philadelphia 👻 what a creepy cool experience! @US Ghost Adventures invited us to review their philly tour and it was great!! cant wait to share our full experience with you! it was the perfect family outing (especially for me because i love all things spooky AND philly history) #phillyghosttours #oldcityphilly #phillymomlife #thingstodoinphilly #usghostadventures #ghosttour #historicphilly #visitphilly #explorephilly ♬ original sound - Amber✨ | Philly Mom
What we loved most was how interactive the experience was. Jackson made sure to include the kids in the conversations, asking them questions and pointing out creepy details they could easily spot. It wasn’t too spooky - just enough mystery to make it exciting and memorable.
If you're looking for kid-friendly things to do in Philadelphia, especially if your kids love history or stories with a twist, this ghost tour is a must. It’s a great way to explore Old City while learning about the past in a whole new way.
