Back to school means back to the after-school “Mom, I’m hungry!” routine. Whether your kids come home from school or log off from cyber learning, having quick, tasty snacks ready to go makes those busy afternoons a lot easier.

I’m all about keeping things simple, affordable, and kid-approved - with some healthy-ish options thrown in. Here are some of our favorite make-ahead after-school snacks that save time and keep the hangry moments at bay!

Slice up apples, drizzle with peanut butter (or sunflower butter), sprinkle with granola and mini chocolate chips. Store sliced apples in lemon water to prevent browning - assemble quickly after school!

Skip the bread and roll deli turkey around cheese sticks. Keep them prepped in the fridge in a sealed container - protein-packed and mess-free!

Let the kids help create their own mix with pretzels, raisins, mini marshmallows, nuts (if allowed), and cereal. Store in small grab-and-go bags or containers.

Dip banana slices in yogurt and roll in crushed graham crackers or cereal. Freeze and serve on hot days!

Bake a batch of mini banana, zucchini, or chocolate chip muffins on Sunday. They’re great for snack time or even early-morning breakfasts.

Create snack boxes like mini lunchables with sliced fruit, cheese, crackers, and baby carrots. Use reusable containers so they’re easy to grab during the afternoon rush.

Layer yogurt with granola and frozen fruit in small mason jars or cups. Keep them in the fridge for a fun, no-prep snack.
Get the kids involved in prepping snacks on Sundays or the night before. When they help pick it, they’re more likely to eat it!
