February isn't just about valentines; it's also National Heart Month—a time to spotlight the journeys of little hearts, like my daughter Mackenzie's. Born with a congenital heart defect, Mackenzie's story is one of resilience, hope, and the strength that beats within her.
At just three months old, Mackenzie underwent open-heart surgery, a testament to her courage and the incredible medical advancements that make these journeys possible. Her tiny heart faced challenges, but it also radiated a spirit that inspired everyone around her. Especially me, her journey inspired me to begin Mackenzie Madison of Philadelphia.
Mackenzie is not alone. Heart defects touch the lives of 1 in 110 babies. Behind this statistic are countless stories of families, doctors, and communities rallying together, proving that love and support can mend even the most delicate hearts. CHD Week runs February 7-14, however February celebrates hearts of all ages!
This Heart Month, let's celebrate Mackenzie and all the heart warriors out there. Share your stories, wear red, and help raise awareness about congenital heart defects. Every beat matters, and every story is a testament to the power of love and resilience.
To honor Mackenzie and all heart warriors, we've created a special edition "Heart Warrior" shirt. It's not just fabric; it's a wearable hug—a symbol of strength and a reminder that every heartbeat is a triumph.
Thank you for being a part of Mackenzie's journey and the larger community of Heart Month. Your support, love, and awareness make a world of difference. Here's to a month filled with heart, warmth, and a collective beat that echoes with love. 💖🩺 #HeartMonth #HeartWarriors #MackenziesJourney
