Hey super moms, gear up for an adventure-packed ride with your little bikers! 🚴♂️💨 I recently stumbled upon a Baby & Kids Safety booth at the Auto Show in Philadelphia sponsored by the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and it got me thinking—what better way to dive into bike safety than turning it into a fun, informative blog for all the awesome moms out there?
Our little daredevils are mini speedsters in the making, so let's talk helmets. According to SAFE KIDS, bicycle helmets have been shown to reduce the risk of head injury by as much as 85 percent. They're a must-have accessory. While visiting the Kids Safety Booth, I learned that helmets are available in three different sizes: toddler, big kids, and adults. This may change depending on the vendor. We were able to have our girls properly fitted for a helmet and spent only $7 each! The safety specialist mentioned the helmet should cover as much of the forehead as possible.
This Safe Kids helmet guide is a great way to ensure you're buying the proper helmet for your child. Make sure the helmet fits properly by doing a Helmet Fit Test:
It's important to talk about safety with your kids. Safe Kids provides a Bike Tips Checklist and rules for the road for parents and children. Check it out here.
So, buckle up—uh, helmet up—and let's pedal into a world where safety is the hero, and style is the sidekick. Happy riding, superhero moms! 🌈🚴♀️
