Let’s be real - a mom’s summer bag is basically her survival kit. Whether we’re headed to the local water park, the beach, or just chilling on the porch, I’ve learned to keep mine packed and ready with everything we might need (because with kids, you never know 😅).
Personally, I use a BOGG bag - it’s cute, sturdy, and wipes clean in seconds. I’ve taken it everywhere this summer: beach days, porch hangs, water park trips, and even just quick drives around the city with the girls. So today I’m sharing exactly what I keep in my summer mom bag, just in case you’re building your own or need a reminder to restock.
Here’s what’s always packed and ready:
Beach Towels – I always roll up 2–3, even if we’re just hitting the splash pad.
Sunscreen – I keep both spray and stick versions for easy reapplication.
Bug Spray – A must for park days and porch time, especially in the evenings.
Sunglasses (x2) – One for me, one for whichever child left theirs at home.
Hydration Packets – I toss a few electrolyte packets in the bag to add to our water bottles - perfect for hot days when we’re sweating a lot.
Snacks – Crackers, fruit snacks, or whatever doesn’t melt instantly.
Mini First Aid Kit – Bandaids, wipes, allergy meds... just in case.
Comfy Tee or Hoodie – I always bring an extra lightweight shirt or sweatshirt for the kids (or myself) if it gets chilly after sunset.
Fold-up Hat – To protect your face while chasing littles around.
Portable Charger – Nothing worse than a dead phone when you’re out with kids.
Wet Bag or Zip Pouch – For storing wet swimsuits or sandy shoes.
Tumbler or Water Bottle – I love a good cold drink on the go (especially porch iced coffee).
Depending on where we’re headed, I’ll usually throw on:
A comfy, soft tee (like one from my summer collection)
Biker shorts or lightweight joggers
My go-to slides or sneakers
And always, always lip balm with SPF
Because yes - moms deserve to be comfy and cute.
Having a go-to summer bag ready to grab has saved me so many times. It keeps our outings smoother, the kids happier, and my peace intact. Whether you’re headed to the pool, porch, or playground - I hope this helps you feel a little more prepped for summer fun.
