Disney Summer Vacation Tips

Planning to visit the wonderful world of Disney this summer? As huge Disney World fanatics, we love a good trip! While the summer isn't our favorite time to explore Disney World, it's a pretty popular time! Here's some tips for vacationing in Disney this summer!

Be flexible - summertime in Disney World is BUSY! Expect huge crowds when visiting the parks. If you're staying on Disney's property at a resort, plan some pool time! I'm a big planner when it comes to our Disney vacations. Especially now that we have to reserve park days, I'm all for an itinerary, but keep in mind - things will change! Rides may shut down, a random rainstorm - it's Florida! Anything can happen so just be flexible and keep an open mind.
Hydrate Often - it is HOT in Florida during the summer months. You may bring your own water into the park and can get free cups of water from many kiosks throughout the Disney parks. We always have Amazon Fresh deliver cases of water to our hotel so we don't have to spend a ton on water bottles. Cooling towels and misting fans to wear around your neck were lifesavers when we visited the parks last May! If you have a kiddo in a stroller, stroller fans are another great way to keep baby cool!
Pack Snacks - Disney parks are known for their themed foods but as picky eaters, we had a hard time finding things we actually wanted to eat besides the normal chicken fingers and french fries. When we stayed at the Art of Animation resort, we preferred the food court and Disney Springs over the actual food in the Disney parks. We packed our backpacks with tons of things we could snack on throughout the day like trail mix, fruit snacks, and other goodies!
Create Memories - while you may feel a bit overwhelmed don't forget that you're creating magical moments with your family. Your kids may have a mid-day melt down because of the heat, you may call it quits and leave the park early, or you may miss your favorite character - no matter the challenges just remember that Disney World is what you make it! You won't do everything but that's okay!
