Making memories with your kids can be so easy! Often times, people equate childhood memories to grand vacations, but in my opinion, it's the little things that matter most. I asked my almost 10 year old what she'd like to do on this beautiful Sunday. She explained how she loves when we cook and bake together. So, we cleaned up our outdoor pizza oven and baked homemade pizzas!
I found this homemade pizza recipe at Simply Recipe's but we decided to skip dough making this time around. We purchased an Ooni Karu pizza oven last year and it has been a big hit with our family! Ooni ovens also come with a pretty awesome cook book that includes an easy to follow dough recipe!
We ended up skipping the dough making part. It's Sunday, mama has spent most of her morning cleaning, so we ran to Aldi's to grab some fun breads, cheeses, and toppings! We did follow Ooni's pizza sauce recipe because it is delicious and really easy to make!
Let your kiddos have fun and get a little messy in the process! My girls 'decorated' their mini pizzas with all of the veggies! I'm talking mushrooms, spinach, olives, pineapples, green peppers, turkey pepperonis, and lots and lots of cheese! It took about 7 minutes to cook each pizza. We enjoyed our slices as we sat around the fire pit! If you're looking for a great wine to pair with your homemade pizza - try a Zinfandel!
