This past weekend, we had the chance to visit the Arden Children’s Theatre in Old City, and I’m so glad we did.
We saw The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Fairy Tales - and it was such a fun experience for the kids and for me.
If you’re looking for something different to do with your kids in Philly, this is definitely one to add to your list.

Before the show even started, my girls got to be part of something really special.
They were invited to be “FUN Ushers”, where they:
They were so excited and felt like they were part of the show before it even began.

The Stinky Cheese Man was honestly hilarious.
It’s a playful twist on classic fairy tales, and the way it’s done keeps kids completely engaged the entire time.
Some of our favorite parts:
It didn’t feel like a “sit still and watch” kind of show - it felt like you were part of it.

I’d say this show is great for:
✔ kids ages 5–12
✔ families looking for something fun and different
✔ parents who want something entertaining for themselves too
It’s one of those experiences where everyone leaves smiling.
The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Fairy Tales is running at:
Arden Children’s Theatre
📍 Old City, Philadelphia
Now through June 7th
If you’ve been thinking about trying a children’s theatre show, this is a great one to start with.

As a mom, I’m always thinking about ways to create memories with my kids.
And this felt like one of those moments.
Something different.
Something fun.
Something they’ll remember.
Experiences like this go beyond just “something to do” - they become part of your family’s story.
