As a mom of older kids, I’ve noticed that most Philly family content is geared toward the little ones. But what about the big kids—the tweens and teens who want fun, engaging experiences that aren’t just playgrounds and toddler-friendly activities? If you’re looking for things to do in and around Philadelphia with older kids, I’ve got you covered! Here are some fun, unique, and parent-approved activities that will keep your big kids entertained.
Take a short drive to Holland Ridge Farm in New Jersey and let the kids pick their own tulips this spring! The fields are absolutely stunning, and it’s a great way to get fresh air and capture some Instagram-worthy photos. 🌷💐 Perfect for the older kids who love nature, photography, or just a fun day outdoors.

Got a kid who loves ships and history? The Independence Seaport Museum is a great stop for older kids who want to climb aboard real historic ships, check out cool exhibits, and even get hands-on with boat-building activities. It’s a hidden gem on Penn’s Landing that older kids and tweens will love.
