Philly moms, did you know that September is Leukodystrophy Awareness Month? To help raise awareness, The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is shining a blue light to show support for those affected by this complex group of disorders. Leukodystrophies are inherited conditions that impact the brain and spinal cord's white matter, affecting movement, speech, vision, hearing, and development.

At CHOP, the Leukodystrophy Center is home to a highly specialized team of experts dedicated to advancing clinical care and research for these disorders. Thanks to their incredible patients, families, and advocacy partners, CHOP is making strides in improving care and understanding leukodystrophies.
As parents, learning more about medical conditions like leukodystrophies helps us better support those around us and contribute to raising awareness. CHOP continues to make a positive impact through their research and care for children with these complex conditions.
