If you’re from Philly, you already know - the 6ABC Dunkin’ Thanksgiving Day Parade is an iconic part of the holiday. Whether you’re planning to bundle up and watch in person or keep it cozy at home (that’s us!), this parade is such a sweet way to kick off Thanksgiving morning with the kids.
It’s festive, it’s joyful, and honestly? It just puts everyone in a good mood before the cooking chaos begins.

📅 Thanksgiving Day – Thursday, November 27, 2025
⏰ Begins at 8:30 AM
📺 Watch live on 6ABC, streaming on 6abc.com and their streaming apps
📍 Parade Route: Starts at 20th & JFK Boulevard → down the Parkway → ends at the Philadelphia Museum of Art
(Perfect for families who want to grab a spot early.)

The parade is full of holiday magic, including:
Giant balloons
Floats and marching bands
Dance groups + local performers
Guest appearances
Santa’s big arrival
Tons of Philly pride
Kids are mesmerized - even the littlest ones stay engaged with all the color, music, and movement.

Honestly, this is my favorite way to do it. Make it cozy!
Pajamas + blankets
Hot cocoa or Dunkin’ breakfast (donuts are practically required)
Matching Thanksgiving tees (you know I had to say it!)
Let the kids pick their favorite balloon
Keep it on while you prep dinner
The vibe is festive without the fuss.

A few survival tips for Philly moms:
Arrive early if you want a good spot on the Parkway
Dress warm warm - hats, gloves, blankets, hand warmers
Bring snacks + something warm to drink
Strollers are welcome but sidewalks get crowded
Parking can be tricky - consider public transit or Uber
Pack an external charger (you’ll take a million photos)
The energy in person is incredible, but yes… it’s cold. Being prepared helps so much.
Whether you’re already a parade family or trying it for the first time, the 6ABC + Dunkin’ Thanksgiving Day Parade is a sweet, memory-making way to start the holiday. It’s fun, it’s free, and it reminds you of the magic before the rest of the day gets busy.
We’ll be watching from home this year - donuts, blankets, and all the cozy vibes.
