Looking for something exciting (and screen-free!) to do with the kids this spring break? If your crew loves a good story, awesome costumes, and live performances—The Hobbit at the Arden Children’s Theatre is a must-see!

We were invited to preview the show, and my daughters loved it! From the beginning, we were transported into an adventurous world where one small hobbit discovers courage, friendship, and the magic of stepping outside your comfort zone.

The costumes were SO fun – from magical creatures to clever transformations, there’s so much to see!
The story kept us hooked – it was exciting, heartfelt, and easy for kids to follow.
The actors were fantastic – they really brought the story to life and had the whole audience cheering.
My 11-year-old was fully into it (she’s a big theatre fan!) and even my younger one enjoyed the adventure.
It’s great for ages 7+, especially for kids who enjoy imaginative stories, fantasy, or theater.

Where: Arden Theatre Company
40 N 2nd Street, Philadelphia, PA
When: Now through April 14, 2025
Tickets: Available now at ArdenTheatre.org

If you’re staying local during spring break and looking for something different to do with your kiddos, The Hobbit is a fantastic way to spend an afternoon or evening. It's engaging, inspiring, and a perfect way to introduce kids to the magic of live theater.
Bring the whole family, grab a snack in Old City after the show, and turn it into a spring memory!
