Spring has sprung—and one of the sweetest ways to celebrate the season is with a family trip to a tulip field! If you’re a Philly mom looking for a fun outdoor activity this spring, tulip picking is the perfect memory-making adventure. The flowers are gorgeous, the photo ops are chef’s kiss, and it’s a great excuse to get the kids off screens and into nature.
Here are some of the best tulip-picking spots near Philly that are worth the drive!
📍 About 1 hour from Philly
This is the go-to spot for tulip picking on the East Coast! Holland Ridge is home to millions of tulips in every color you can imagine. They charge per stem (very affordable) and offer food trucks, pony rides, and lots of photo-worthy backdrops. Pro tip: wear rain boots if it rained recently—mud happens!

📍 Just 35–45 minutes from Philly
Dalton Farms hosts a “U-Pick Tulip Festival” that’s super family-friendly with food vendors, music, and even wine tastings for mom and dad. They also have picnic tables and a calm, relaxed vibe—great for younger kids.

📍 Less than an hour from Philly
Known for its strawberry picking later in spring, Johnson’s Corner also offers spring tulip picking for a limited time. They’ve got farm animals, hayrides, and a great playground too—perfect for a full day of family fun.

Shady Brook’s “Spring Fest” sometimes includes tulip fields depending on the season. Keep an eye on their website for event details. Bonus: their food market is great for snacks and treats after flower picking.

📍 Just 30 minutes from the city
While not a tulip field, Linvilla is always a favorite for flower shopping and spring activities. Their Garden Center sells beautiful tulips and plants, and the playground and farm animals make it a go-to for younger kids.
